Prestbury Choral Society Singing Day

This is a Past Event and has been Archived.

We invite you to join us for our 2012 singing day when we shall work on Karl Jenkins' The Armed Man, a hugely popular and challenging work. We are delighted to welcome accomplished local soprano Angela Rowley to lead us in exploring this powerful 'mass for peace', which charts the growing menace of a descent into war, interspersed with moments of reflection; shows the horrors that war brings and ends with the hope of peace in a new millennium when sorrow, pain and death may be overcome. In addition to extracts from the Christian Mass, the text incorporates words from other world religious and historical sources. Angela's musical talents include performing regularly with orchestras and choirs both in the UK and Europe, teaching singing, and running performance workshops and master classes.

Registration and coffee at 9.30am. Finish at 5.30pm. Fee for the day: £18. Musical scores will be provided. Bring a packed lunch; tea and coffee will be provided. To register, see Registration Form on website www.prestburychoral.org or telephone 01625 584820

Every event on WhereCanWeGo has been added by the organisers themselves, so you get a really good feel for what events are about.
If you're organising a public event, you can promote it for FREE by registering here ~ it works so well.
Don't take our word. See what our organisers say:
"Our event was a success due in no small part to your inclusion of it and the fact that yours was the first entry in an internet search for the title of the exhibition. The days of chasing after printed media coverage are over. Where Can We Go gave us excellent coverage and and we would be happy to recommend your service to organisations large and small." - Jock, Herald Events.
"We used it to promote a one day open day and it turned out to be the most effective way of getting visitors; slightly over 1/3 rd came through your site, 1/3 from posters and flyers and rather less than 1/3 from the £1,000 of local press ads we paid for!." - The Midland Gliding Cub.
