A New Heaven
The Mass in G Minor by Vaughan William is a truly beautiful work, full of rich harmonies and at the same time evoking the Tudor world of Tallis and Byrd. The Cardiff Polyphonic Choir has chosen to perform this piece in a programme of 19th and 20th century British sacred music which includes Gerald Finzi’s anthem for Ascension Day God is gone up and Charles Wood’s radiant anthem for double choir Hail, gladdening light.
The concert starts at 19:30 pm. Tickets which are £12 (concessions £10 for over 60s; £5 students; children free) may be purchased on the door.
