Beethoven's lyrical Romances in F for Violin and Orchestra are framed by two works by the 'Dean of American Music' - the melodious jazz infused Clarinet Concerto and the ballet score Appalachian Spring which conjures up images of an ideal America, full of limitless opportunities, which has achieved ongoing popularity as an orchestral suite.
