Siemens wind turbines

This is a Past Event and has been Archived.

Britain has the best offshore wind resource in Europe. 50GW of projects are planned representing an investment of around £150 Billion. But building the wind farms is only part of the story. Connecting offshore wind farms to the onshore grid presents a whole string of challenges - planning, regulation, financing as well as the practical issues of trying to put electrical equipment in the midst of the sea. This Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) talk will cover these technical and non-technical issues, progress to date and the future for offshore electricity grids.

7pm for 7.30pm start, free of charge, pre-registration is preferred via the IET website.
