Milngavie Music Club - Finzi Quartet

Haydn - String Quartet in B flat, Op 50, No 1; Debussy - String Quartet in G minor, Op 10; Mendelssohn - String Quartet No 2 in A minor, Op 13 The second of Milngavie Music Club's excellent young British string quartets this season, the Finzis help us celebrate Debussy's 150th anniversary with his wonderful quartet. Mendelssohn was only 18 when he composed his richly romantic second quartet. But he was already an experienced composer of chamber music and in this piece was strongly influenced by Beethoven, who had died just a few months earlier.
