Choral Contemplations - Candlemas

This is a Past Event and has been Archived.

New for 2011 – a series of early evening services and recitals, performed by Glasgow University’s acclaimed Chapel Choir in the stunning setting of the University’s Memorial Chapel. The perfect way to end your working day, these short, reflective services and recitals take place at 6pm every Tuesday during term time. Loosely following the seasons of the church year, they take inspiration from the festivals and saints’ days that fall around each performance date. Tonight's recital includes Videte Miraculum by Tallis; Lumen ad Revelationem by Byrd; Nunc Dimittis by Wood; and Svete Tikhi by Rachmaninov.

Entry to services and recitals is free and all are very welcome, whatever your background or beliefs. All performances begin at 6:00pm and last for around an hour.

Every event on WhereCanWeGo has been added by the organisers themselves, so you get a really good feel for what events are about.
If you're organising a public event, you can promote it for FREE by registering here ~ it works so well.
Don't take our word. See what our organisers say:
"We used it to promote a one day open day and it turned out to be the most effective way of getting visitors; slightly over 1/3 rd came through your site, 1/3 from posters and flyers and rather less than 1/3 from the £1,000 of local press ads we paid for!." - The Midland Gliding Cub.
"One of our homes had a Red Cross Open day recently and 30% of the visitors had seen the event listed on your site" - Wellburn.
