Welsh National Opera - The Marriage of Figaro
This is a Past Event and has been Archived.
Conductor Anthony Negus Director Lluis Pasqual A day to remember It’s Figaro and Susanna’s big day. Before they can tie the knot they have more than one hurdle to overcome: Count Almaviva, Figaro’s master, has designs upon Susanna; while Figaro’s failure to repay a loan requires him to marry another woman. Mistaken identities, surprise revelations and unlikely interventions mean it’s going to be a day that no one in the Count’s household will ever forget. The Marriage of Figaro is a ravishingly beautiful opera, both deeply affecting and funny. Once you meet its characters they will be an acquaintance you will want to keep for the rest of your life. All human life is here. This stylish production sets the opera in Spain in the optimistic days of the early 1930s.
