Where The Working Boats Went

This is a Past Event and has been Archived.

Told in song and story, Where the Working Boats Went is a multi-media show, mixing drama, pictures and music to tell the story of the Inland Waterways of Britain, with new songs and tunes, written by Graeme Meek and Barry Goodman, as well as a few songs from other writers and from the folk tradition. The story is told in the words of the people who lived and worked on the canals, and is linked by songs, with plenty of opportunities for the audience to join in with the choruses! A backdrop of images from the canals, both historical and contemporary, complements the show, and a broom-dance livens up the pub-setting in the second half!

Every event on WhereCanWeGo has been added by the organisers themselves, so you get a really good feel for what events are about.
If you're organising a public event, you can promote it for FREE by registering here ~ it works so well.
Don't take our word. See what our organisers say:
"We used it to promote a one day open day and it turned out to be the most effective way of getting visitors; slightly over 1/3 rd came through your site, 1/3 from posters and flyers and rather less than 1/3 from the £1,000 of local press ads we paid for!." - The Midland Gliding Cub.
"We had an excellent response from our posting on WhereCanWeGo.com, and it was responsible for drawing folk from a wide area to our event; we recommend you as being the most effective form of publicity around." - Barbara , Village Celebration Food & Crafts Fairs.
