Drawn to motion, written in space, stitched over time by Shane Waltener

This is a Past Event and has been Archived.

London-based artist Shane Waltener presents new works resulting from onsite research and exchanges with dancers at Siobhan Davies Studios. Looking at the relationship between stepping and stitching, Waltener will work with dancers and use the building as a loom to weave on, creating a site responsive installations. The works are destined to evolve over the course of the exhibition as visitors are invited to interact with these. Shane Waltener is renowned for his large scale textile craft inspired installations, and most recently his contribution to the Love Lace exhibition at the Powerhouse Museum and Sydney Design Festival 2011. His projects often involve visitors as participants and contributors in the making of these works, prompting communication and engagement through the act of making.

Don't take our word. See what our organisers say:
"We had an excellent response from our posting on WhereCanWeGo.com, and it was responsible for drawing folk from a wide area to our event; we recommend you as being the most effective form of publicity around." - Barbara , Village Celebration Food & Crafts Fairs.
"Our event was a success due in no small part to your inclusion of it and the fact that yours was the first entry in an internet search for the title of the exhibition. The days of chasing after printed media coverage are over. Where Can We Go gave us excellent coverage and and we would be happy to recommend your service to organisations large and small." - Jock, Herald Events.
