Pantomime - Dick Whittington

This is a Past Event and has been Archived.

Poor country boy Dick Whittington arrives to make his fortune. After being falsely accused of theft, he is forlornly trudging away, when in a dream he hears Bow Bells telling him to 'Turn again Whittington, Lord Mayor of London'. He does (well, wouldn't you?) and meets the principal girl, Alice Fitzwarren. Lots going on throughout the show - dancing, live band, laughter, singing, and even acting !!! This is the third script of Alan P. Frayn's we've used - we did his 'Jack and The Beanstalk' six years ago. His scripts are fast, modern, and funny, constantly updated each year to remain fresh. We fully expect this year's panto to be up to the usual high standard that BroADS have achieved across many years now

Doors open matinees at 2:00, evenings at 7:00. Prices vary between £5 for the first nght to £9 for the last - see the Birchmeadow webiste for details.

Fordante concert of light classical music
Fordante is Shropshire’s award winning ensemble. They play original music and lots of melodies we’ve grown to love, especially from films. The five highly experienced classical musicians are inspired by a popular blend of world music styles, baroque and classical music, emotive themes and passionate melodies. Listen and watch them on our website.

Jake Cogan and the Liberty Roses
Another fabulous music evening ahead - good acoustics, cabaret layout, top value. "One of folk music’s new and exciting artists, with a beautiful, mellifluous voice that seems to spring forth from the depths of a trance, like rolling mist over Scottish glens. Gorgeous, folkish music, with an alt-country feel."

Every event on WhereCanWeGo has been added by the organisers themselves, so you get a really good feel for what events are about.
If you're organising a public event, you can promote it for FREE by registering here ~ it works so well.
Don't take our word. See what our organisers say:
"Our event was a success due in no small part to your inclusion of it and the fact that yours was the first entry in an internet search for the title of the exhibition. The days of chasing after printed media coverage are over. Where Can We Go gave us excellent coverage and and we would be happy to recommend your service to organisations large and small." - Jock, Herald Events.
"We had an excellent response from our posting on WhereCanWeGo.com, and it was responsible for drawing folk from a wide area to our event; we recommend you as being the most effective form of publicity around." - Barbara , Village Celebration Food & Crafts Fairs.
