Out of the Woods -- Paintings by Nigel Markham

This is a Past Event and has been Archived.

Work by well-known artist and teacher Nigel Markham, lecturer in fine arts at North Herts College. A graduate of the Royal Academy Nigel has continuously exhibited, taught and studied art. His relentless desire to observe and, visually, express his findings has produced a fascinating body of intriguing and honest work. Uncompromising brushstrokes and ruthless mark making combine to create almost factual yet somehow abstracted landscape and genre pieces. From rhythmic linocuts to luscious oils Nigel manages to capture both the moment and a passage of his own history. His work has been exhibited at Kettles Yard, Cambridge, Edith Grove Gallery, Chelsea, and the Royal Academy.

Open Monday to Friday 10.00 am to 5.00 pm. Saturday 10.00 am to 3.00 pm. Admission is free to all Galleries.

Every event on WhereCanWeGo has been added by the organisers themselves, so you get a really good feel for what events are about.
If you're organising a public event, you can promote it for FREE by registering here ~ it works so well.
Don't take our word. See what our organisers say:
"We used it to promote a one day open day and it turned out to be the most effective way of getting visitors; slightly over 1/3 rd came through your site, 1/3 from posters and flyers and rather less than 1/3 from the £1,000 of local press ads we paid for!." - The Midland Gliding Cub.
"Our family fun day this year was the best ever and a great deal of that success was from a mention on WhereCanWeGo.com. We will definitely be using it for all future events." - Lee Mill Community Association.
