Into the Wind & Heilig
This is a Past Event and has been Archived.
Into the Wind is a record of deeply personal stories and tales of friendships gained and lost. The film raises issues of the constant possibility of death, the importance of love and family and the moral implications of warfare. This fascinating documentary is followed by a Q&A session with filmmaker Steven Hatton and Adam Love Rodgers from the National Museum of Flight. Heilig will be screened after this. Heilig is an intimate portrait of Gerhard Heilig, a Jewish refugee, now 85 and living in Vienna. Heilig explores Gerhard’s escape from Nazi Austria and imprisonment at Dachau and Buchenwald. He speaks of his father, Bruno Heilig, an anti-Nazi political journalist and one of the first eye witness accounts of life in the concentration camps.
