Ceilidh with What’s Up Folk

This is a Past Event and has been Archived.

What’s Up Folk – the group from John Mason School in Abingdon – returns to play a third gig for Oxfolk. This big-folk-band has wowed audiences at Towersey Festival and played to sold-out venues at Oxfolk and Oxford Folk Festival. Over the years that the group has existed, they have been helped and encouraged by their teachers and leading musicians such John Spiers (a John Mason old boy), Jon Boden, Simon Care. WUF’s fiddle, whistle, recorder, melodica and melodeon driven line-up is under pinned by guitar, bass and cahon. Oxfolk not only highly rates this band, but has helped to support the development of the group, and we look forward not just this, many other wonderful ceilidhs. Will Hall joins us to call all the dances, explaining what to throughout the ceilidh. Licensed bar.

Doors open 7.30pm, ceilidh runs 8 - 11.30pm Tickets are available on the door and are priced £9 for adults and £6 concessions (students, pensioners) and families (2 adults and 2 children) are £25. For further find our website (below) call/text 07866 804220 / 07515 410211.

Every event on WhereCanWeGo has been added by the organisers themselves, so you get a really good feel for what events are about.
If you're organising a public event, you can promote it for FREE by registering here ~ it works so well.
Don't take our word. See what our organisers say:
"We used it to promote a one day open day and it turned out to be the most effective way of getting visitors; slightly over 1/3 rd came through your site, 1/3 from posters and flyers and rather less than 1/3 from the £1,000 of local press ads we paid for!." - The Midland Gliding Cub.
"We had an excellent response from our posting on WhereCanWeGo.com, and it was responsible for drawing folk from a wide area to our event; we recommend you as being the most effective form of publicity around." - Barbara , Village Celebration Food & Crafts Fairs.
