The Drowsy Chaperone
This is a Past Event and has been Archived.
The Drowsy Chaperone is a musical within a musical – the story of a character simply called “Man in a Chair” who, sitting in his New York apartment, chats to the audience about his love of musicals. As he places his favourite record – The Drowsy Chaperone – onto his turntable, the show bursts to life in his room! The Drowsy Chaperone is an effervescent spoof of old musicals that won two Tony Award nominations on Broadway and five Olivier Award Nominations. It’s fully of catchy tunes, madcap dance routines and gentle humour. It’s the perfect antidote to a cold February evening and is suitable for the whole family. The show will be brought to The Barn Oxted by Good Company, the local amateur theatre group that staged the highly acclaimed “A Man of No Importance” at The Barn last year.
The Drowsy Chaperone will be at The Barn from Wednesday 8th February to Saturday 11th February with performances at 7:30 and a matinee at 2:30 on Saturday. Ticket prices are £14-16 (concessions available for all performances at £11 and £13). Tickets can be ordered via The Barn website www.barntheatreoxted.co.uk or by emailing goodcompanyboxoffice@gmail.com
