Hambledon Valentine Walk for Macmillan Cancer Support

This is a Past Event and has been Archived.

A romantic charity walk in the run-up to Valentine’s Day- a hearty six mile circular route from Hambledon does not disappoint. The picturesque village, deep in rolling Hampshire downland, abounds with panoramic views and is famous as the ‘cradle of English cricket’. The walk encompasses a historic high street, a Saxon church, a vineyard, two cricket grounds - one of which is a mecca to sporting fans – Surrounded by sweeping farmland and splendid woods. There will be a walks leader to guide walkers as well as a drink stop. Food will be available before the walk and after at the Hall. Come and enjoy a Love-ly walk, all we ask is.. help us raise as much as possible for people affected by cancer by gathering sponsorship or make a donation.

Start and finish at the village hall. The registration desk will be open from 9.30am, walkers will leave at 10am. The walk is 6.5 miles long through beautiful countryside, It is £10 to enter, under 16s go free. Dogs are welcome if kept on a lead. Not suitable for pushchairs or wheelchairs.

Don't take our word. See what our organisers say:
"Our family fun day this year was the best ever and a great deal of that success was from a mention on WhereCanWeGo.com. We will definitely be using it for all future events." - Lee Mill Community Association.
"We used it to promote a one day open day and it turned out to be the most effective way of getting visitors; slightly over 1/3 rd came through your site, 1/3 from posters and flyers and rather less than 1/3 from the £1,000 of local press ads we paid for!." - The Midland Gliding Cub.
