The Lark

This is a Past Event and has been Archived.

To the great lords of her time, as well as the politicians of the Church, expediency was God. So the Maid had to die. Her life has the somewhat artificial quality of a play. Short scenes are played out during the trial as they struggle to turn her simplicity into heresy. But it is the glory of her life rather than the tragedy that is the triumphant climax of the play. A captivating, truly modern reimagining of the life and trial of Joan of Arc as depicted in Anouilh's 1952 French classic. Not suitable for audiences under 12 yrs old. Written by Jean Anouilh Translated by Christopher Fry Directed by Chris Rolls Thurs 2nd - Sat 4th February 7:30pm (2:30pm Sat matinee) £8.00 / £5.00 concession 01702 328335 / clifftown@essex.ac.uk / www.clifftowntheatre.co.uk

Every event on WhereCanWeGo has been added by the organisers themselves, so you get a really good feel for what events are about.
If you're organising a public event, you can promote it for FREE by registering here ~ it works so well.
Don't take our word. See what our organisers say:
"We used it to promote a one day open day and it turned out to be the most effective way of getting visitors; slightly over 1/3 rd came through your site, 1/3 from posters and flyers and rather less than 1/3 from the £1,000 of local press ads we paid for!." - The Midland Gliding Cub.
"Our family fun day this year was the best ever and a great deal of that success was from a mention on WhereCanWeGo.com. We will definitely be using it for all future events." - Lee Mill Community Association.
