One of Nottingham city's hidden gems is to be found in the unlikely setting of the old Nottingham Brickwork Quarry. The landscape has been transformed with pathways, steps and a summer house. Clever planting with trees, fences, bamboos, palms and specimen shrubs, lead to flowing herbaceous borders which provide colour and interest with many unusual plants. Open:Sun 1 July (12-5). Evening Openings, wine, Wed 11 July, Wed 1 Aug (6-9).
Admission £2.50, evening adm, £4, Children free. Times:12-5. Telephone:01159 609067. Visitors & groups 20+ also welcome by appointment July only. Open for charity.
