Nora
This is a Past Event and has been Archived.
Nora is the celebrated director and writer Ingmar Bergman’s acclaimed adaptation of Ibsen’s A Doll’s House – one of the best-loved dramas in literature. A Doll’s House caused huge controversy when it was first performed in 1879, and the story remains an astonishingly significant comment on the role of women in society. Everything’s perfect in Nora’s world. She has beautiful children, an elegant house and her loving husband has just won a big promotion at work. But Nora’s perfect world is held together by a secret, and when that secret is out the whole thing will come crashing down. In 2008 the Belgrade scored an enormous hit with another Ingmar Bergman play, Scenes From A Marriage, directed by Trevor Nunn. Post-Show Discussion: Thurs 16 February.
