Swindon Recital Series Jubilee Concert

This is a Past Event and has been Archived.

To celebrate the accession of Her Majesty the Queen on 6th February 1952 and in the presence of Wiltshire’s Lord-Lieutenant, the Music Of Renown Ensemble, in collaboration with the JTP Trust concert choir, presents a programme of music with Royal connections. The concert will feature a performance of Walton’s ‘Façade’ – a jazz-based work written by the composer of the famous ‘Crown Imperial’, commissioned for the coronation itself. The concert also features a new piece by composer Rachel Stott commemorating not only the accession but also the decommissioning of GWR locomotive ‘Princess Elizabeth’ at the Swindon Works in February 1952.

The concert starts at 7.30pm and finishes about 9pm, followed by tea, coffee and soft drinks. Tickets are £5 with accompanied children aged 14 years and under admitted free.

Every event on WhereCanWeGo has been added by the organisers themselves, so you get a really good feel for what events are about.
If you're organising a public event, you can promote it for FREE by registering here ~ it works so well.
Don't take our word. See what our organisers say:
"We had an excellent response from our posting on WhereCanWeGo.com, and it was responsible for drawing folk from a wide area to our event; we recommend you as being the most effective form of publicity around." - Barbara , Village Celebration Food & Crafts Fairs.
"We used it to promote a one day open day and it turned out to be the most effective way of getting visitors; slightly over 1/3 rd came through your site, 1/3 from posters and flyers and rather less than 1/3 from the £1,000 of local press ads we paid for!." - The Midland Gliding Cub.
