An illustrated talk by Graham Whitham on the interwar German school that influenced modern architecture and design. Opened in 1919 and closed by the Nazis fourteen years later, the Bauhaus created new forms of art, architecture and design that were to have a lasting and profound influence in our modern world. Graham Whitham has lectured at the Tate Gallery, Royal Acadamy and at galleries in the USA and Italy. He now teaches on the University of Kent’s degree programme. He is the co-author of “Understand Art History” and “Understand Contemporary Art”, both published in 2010, and is a contributor to many other publications. Evening presented by The Tunbridge Wells Twinning & Friendship Association.
