Join British Waterways' works team to view the lock gates being craned out of the Hertford Union Canal, Bottom Lock, Lock 3, as part of a c.£90,000 project to maintain and improve London’s historic canals. British Waterways’ heritage advisor and engineers will be on-site to guide the public and talk visitors through the works happening and regeneration of east London’s waterways. To view the gates being lifted, please join British Waterways at the Stourspace Gallery & Counter Café, 7 Roach Road, London. E3 2PA Nearest station Hackney Wick approx. 5mins walk from the canal. The walks to view the lock gates being craned will start at the Stourspace Gallery & Counter Café at 10.30am, 11.30am, 12.30pm and 1.30pm on Saturday 4th Feb. 2012.
