Reading from Chuma Nwokolo

This is a Past Event and has been Archived.

One of Africa’s most distinguished contemporary writers, the Nigerian Chuma Nwokolo, has added the Dylan Thomas Centre, Swansea to a 12-city British and African tour to launch his latest book, a collection of twenty-six remarkable short stories called The Ghost of Sani Abacha. A special free-entry event at the Centre is scheduled for 12.30–1.30 on Saturday, 4 February, during which Chuma Nwokolo will be in conversation with local author Nigel Jenkins before reading excerpts from his new book – which Jenkins describes as ‘just about the best way of visiting contemporary Nigeria without going to the expense of physically removing yourself there: these are superb stories, brimful of life, drama, humour, anger, satirical wit, compassion and a delight in language.

Every event on WhereCanWeGo has been added by the organisers themselves, so you get a really good feel for what events are about.
If you're organising a public event, you can promote it for FREE by registering here ~ it works so well.
Don't take our word. See what our organisers say:
"Our event was a success due in no small part to your inclusion of it and the fact that yours was the first entry in an internet search for the title of the exhibition. The days of chasing after printed media coverage are over. Where Can We Go gave us excellent coverage and and we would be happy to recommend your service to organisations large and small." - Jock, Herald Events.
"We used it to promote a one day open day and it turned out to be the most effective way of getting visitors; slightly over 1/3 rd came through your site, 1/3 from posters and flyers and rather less than 1/3 from the £1,000 of local press ads we paid for!." - The Midland Gliding Cub.
