Woodchurch Film Society - True Grit (Cert 15)

This is a Past Event and has been Archived.

Compelling 2010 remake of the ultimate Western. Starring Jeff Bridges, Matt Damon and the impressive, young Hailee Steinfeld, this is the Coen brothers award-winning reworking of the tale of a 14-year old farm girl, Mattie Ross, who sets out to capture her father's killer. To help her, she hires the toughest US Marshall she can find, a man with 'true grit', but whose drinking and sloth far from reassure her. In their trek into the Indian Nations to find the killer, they are joined in the hunt by a Texas Ranger. The unlikely trio face all sorts of dangers and surprises, and each has his or her 'grit' tested.

Film screening starts at 7.30pm. Doors open 7.00pm. Refreshments - home-baked cakes, muffin and freshly made popcorn - and hot drinks available. Admission: £3 (WFS members), £4 (non-members). Tickets available on the door.

Don't take our word. See what our organisers say:
"We had an excellent response from our posting on WhereCanWeGo.com, and it was responsible for drawing folk from a wide area to our event; we recommend you as being the most effective form of publicity around." - Barbara , Village Celebration Food & Crafts Fairs.
"We used it to promote a one day open day and it turned out to be the most effective way of getting visitors; slightly over 1/3 rd came through your site, 1/3 from posters and flyers and rather less than 1/3 from the £1,000 of local press ads we paid for!." - The Midland Gliding Cub.
