Centralia

This is a Past Event and has been Archived.

The small mining town of Centralia, Pennsylvania, was once a thriving community of over 2000 inhabitants. But in 1962 a trash fire ignited an underground coal vein beneath the town. 20 years later the fire was still burning and the inhabitants of Centralia were forced to relocate. Nearly everybody left, but 4 people refused to leave their homes. Following its hugely sucessful London run, this new play by Superbolt Theatre sees these 4 remaining Centralians come to Bristol to tell the world their story. Using a mix of comedy, cabaret and physical theatre, Superbolt Theatre takes the audience on a tragic journey that has them laughing the whole way. Superbolt Theatre is an International Theatre company founded at Jacques Lecoq International Theatre School in Paris in 2011.
