The White Peacock Exhibition

This is a Past Event and has been Archived.

AN exhibition created last year to celebrate 100 years since the publication of D.H. Lawrence’s first published novel, The White Peacock, will return to the writer’s hometown of Eastwood this month. The White Peacock, which was set in the countryside surrounding Lawrence’s hometown, demonstrates the writer’s passion and knowledge of the area and how he used real locations in his fiction from the outset – something he would continue to do throughout his career. The exhibition will contain photographs of key locations from the novel alongside quotations relating to each site. The exhibition will also showcase contributions from the University of Nottingham’s D.H. Lawrence Research Centre and Department of Manuscripts and Special Collections. Audio devices will also be provided along the exhibition route to take you into the lives of the main characters and show the relationships that Lawrence tried to convey within this rural backdrop.

10am until 4pm (5pm after 1st April) £3.00 per person

Rainbow Gallery, D.H. Lawrence Heritage Centre, Mansfield Road, Eastwood Nottinghamshire NG16 3DZ
