West Somerset Railway Autumn Steam Gala
A four day festival of steam train travel to mark the 50th Anniversary of the closure of Taunton locomotive shed in October 1964. Steam locomotives of classes that worked around Taunton in 1963/64 will appear including some guests hired-in especially for the Gala. Hourly train service from each end of the line (Bishops Lydeard near Taunton, or Minehead). There will be Museums open, Model Railway displays, a chance to try your hand at signalling and Driver for a Fiver at Minehead (subject to
