Heritage Open Day: Guided tours of the Church. The present church was built before 1155 and the Abbey (English Heritage) built around it. The font dates from this period but the crowning glory is a rare series of wall paintings dating from 1250. There is a replica of the 7th century cross, the original being in the V & A Museum in London. Heritage Weekend will close with a special service of choral evensong.
