In the town of Titipu flirting has been made illegal. The penalty is death. Too bad then that the main culprit is the Lord High Executioner Ko-Ko..... This wonderful comic opera, although set in Japan, is very much a parody of British politics, institutions and public life - written in the 19th century but still surprisingly relevant in the 21st! It gets the complete Illyria treatment, faithfully performed by a reduced but very talented cast.
