The Emily Portman Trio
Emily Portman originally gained widespread acclaim as a member of the traditional three-part harmony group Devil's Interval but, since their disbanding, she has ventured into songwriting with considerable success having won the BBC Radio Two Folk Award for Best Original Song in 2013. Her songs are part inspired by the ancient ballads of the British Isles and part by a rich vein of literary sources, from myths and legends to the magical realism of Angela Carter.
