“The Food of Love – Music and Poetry for Midsummer”
Newbury Chamber Choir performs an entertaining mix of English Songs and readings on the theme of love. From Elizabethan madrigals to the great Victorian poets, this programme mixes music with the spoken word and culminates in Coleridge Taylor's evocative setting of Longfellow’s “Hiawatha’s Wedding Feast”. The choir is joined by the rising young tenor James Savage Hanford, local actor Don Crerar and a young local pianist Susan Holmes who is rapidly making a name for herself as an accompanis
