Before Knole House: Knole’s Prehistoric and Medieval Landscape
York University archaeologist Alastair Oswald has been carefully mapping humps and bumps that represent traces of Knole's lost gardens, which potentially stretch back to the late medieval period. Virtually everywhere his practiced eye has spotted previously un-noticed field boundaries, which may date to the Romano-British period or even the Bronze Age BC. Join Alastair for an informal lecture featuring fascinating insight and pictures.
