Oh What A Lovely War!

Oh What a Lovely War” was first staged at the Theatre Royal, Stratford East, in 1963. Joan Littlewood and her Theatre Workshop company developed a musical play about the First World War, which satirised the perceived stupidity of the British high command, and which depicted the horrors undergone by ordinary soldiers.
