Jim's story: a case of love and war
Virginia Aighton tells how she discovered letters written to her mother by her father whilst he was serving in the army during the Second World War. In the letters, Jim records his feelings about what was going on around him and describes his day to day experiences in fascinating detail. As the letters progress through the years from 1940 - 1945 they reveal Jim's transition from idealistic recruit to world-weary soldier.
