The Mumbles Railway

Join author and lifetime railway enthusiast David Beynon, for a fascinating insight into the history of the Mumbles Railway. The Swansea and Mumbles Railway was the world's first passenger railway service. Founded in March 1807 the coaches were initially drawn by horses on the rails laid in 1804 to carry limestone from Mumbles to Swansea docks.
