We restart our monthly lecture series on September 10th with a lecture by Jo Walton entitled “The Artist as Reporter: British Artists and the First World War”. The First World War saw armies with undreamed of power to maim and destroy. This lecture considers how the young British war artists recorded their own experiences in works which are still remarkable for their ability to move or shock.

Lectures begin at 11.00am with complimentary coffee and tea from 10.15-10.45. Non-members are very welcome, no need to book (suggested donation £8).
