The Hugh MacDiarmid Festival 2014

A daylong festival to celebrate the life and work of poet Hugh MacDiarmid. Starting at 9.00am with a walk from the MacDiarmid Memorial to the cemetery where he is buried with songs, poems and readings along the way. The activities continue at The Buccleuch Centre from 2.00pm with traditional music and song, comedy, film, stories and a ceilidh - what more could you ask for? Tickets are £10 for the whole day's activities.
