King Edward Street Chapel

Heritage Open Day: This unique building of local stone opened in 1690 as a Dissenters' chapel, and is beautifully conserved. Refurbished in the early 20th century in its original 17th century style, it is thanks to the early support of the Brocklehursts, a very important silk manufacturing family of 19th century Macclesfield, that it survived the traumas of the 18th to mid 19th century.
