Wheatley Hill Heritage Centre

Heritage Open Day: Small museum celebrating life in a colliery village in 1919, and outside is the grave of miners' leader Peter Lee. His grave is the only listed monument in the East Durham area, and tribute to the man who worked so hard to improve the living and working conditions of miners and their families in County Durham. There will be a exhibition of the contributions of Wheatley Hill residents to the First World War.
