St Bridget's Church, Brigham

Heritage Open Day: St Bridget's Church is a Grade I listed Norman Church dating from the 11th century. It stands on a site of worship founded by the nuns of St Bridget in around 500AD. In around 1870, extensive restoration work was carried out by the architect William Butterfield. This restoration included the painting of the plaster ceilings in the Nave and South Aisle to Butterfield's full size cartoon design of stars, foliage and monograms.
