St Michael's Church, Burgh by Sands

Heritage Open Day: St Michael's, Burgh-by-Sands is a beautiful Grade I listed Norman church. Visitor display area with history of the Roman fort on which the church stands. King Edward I lay in state here, following his death nearby. Tower tours to first floor level, guided tours, refreshments. Take a 'walk through time' in the churchyard, with the time line stones. Children's quiz sheet, free squash, tea, coffee, biscuits, families welcome.
