St Giles Leper Hospital
Heritage Open Day: Remains of an ancient Leper hospital founded, it is said, in 1164 during the reign of Henry II. St Giles is a unique survival of only 10 medieval hospitals recorded in Essex and is of national importance. Not normally open to the general public, stewards will be on hand to explain the significance of the monument.
