Thomas Plume's Library
Heritage Open Day: On the site of the parish Church of St Peter's, the upper floor of the Plume building has housed Dr Thomas Plume's library since 1704. 2014 sees two significant tercentenaries, the publication of John Evelyn’s book Sylva and the Longitude Act which offered a prize of £20,000 for a solution to the problem of finding longitude at sea.
This year’s exhibition will feature items from the Library’s botanical collection, its two copies of Sylva and other works by Evelyn
