Whitecliff Furnace

Heritage Open Day: Whitecliff Furnace is an eighteenth century blast furnace within an iron making complex. It was part owned by metallurgist David Mushet, who was lured to the Forest of Dean to redesign the Furnace. It was one of the first coke fuelled furnaces in the Forest of Dean and its role was partly experimental. The site will be open throughout Heritage Open Days.
