St Barnabas' Church of England Primary School

Heritage Open Day: A visit to this Church of England parish school offers rich insight into its history and a chance to see work by today's pupils. This three-storey brick and sandstone building, designed by local architects HH and E Cronk, opened in 1897. To commemorate the start of the Great War, the local CREATE choir sings songs popular in the era throughout the weekend and you can watch demonstrations of stool ball, a game played widely in 1914.
