St James's Church
Heritage Open Day: Designed by Sir George Gilbert Scott, built 1854-1886 in the Victorian Gothic Revival style. The chancel has wall paintings by the Victorian artist Hemmings and some of the stained glass is by the Camm family of Smethwick. The 1833 Bewsher and Fleetwood organ was originally in St John's Church, Egremont. We are hoping to have the organ available for willing and capable volunteers to play - bring your own music.
