Heritage Open Day: The Georgian Courthouse remains virtually unchanged since it was built in 1830; stand in the dock to hear your fate or sit at the magistrate's bench to deliver the verdict. Our displays tell the story of the courthouse and the people who passed through it. This year, the theme for Heritage Open Days is 'Locked Up'. Especially for Heritage Open Days we are opening up the original holding cell underneath the courthouse. Experience this dark and forbidding cell
