Lyveden New Bield

Heritage Open Day: Set in the heart of rural Northamptonshire, the mysterious Lyveden is a remarkable survival of the Elizabethan age. Take a stroll through one of the oldest gardens in England and see the atmospheric garden lodge which was destined never to be completed. Explore Sir Thomas Tresham’s garden, which had remained incomplete since work was abandoned in 1605, discover the hidden symbols of his Catholic faith and learn about the family’s involvement with the infamous Gunpowder Plot.
