The Town Hall
Heritage Open Day: The Town Hall was built in 1868 to replace a Georgian town hall on the North East side of the Square. With the look of a French chateau, the building has been described as 'noble'. The ballroom is certainly impressive - as is the council chamber with its splendid fireplace, portraits and candelabra from the old town hall. A display of the Town Silver will be held in the Council Chamber. Displays will also take place in the Ballroom throughout the day please see the
