Nether Edge Historical Walk

Heritage Open Day: A 2.5 hours' walk around Nether Edge village, Brincliffe and Kenwood led by members of the Nether Edge History Group. Although the area is now mainly suburban, we'll explore the history of the area including a house built about 1605, remnants of several farms, the 1845 Ecclesall Brierlow Workhouse, and consider changes made from the 1850s as new wealthy industralists, including cutlery manufacturer George Wostenholm, built large houses such as Kenwood, Shirle Hill
