St Helen's Church Open Day

Heritage Open Day: A lovely, intimate and historical church - the only one in the Domesday Book as being in the ‘vast and ancient territory of Hallamshire'. The building dates from 1175, with major additions in 13th & 14thC. One of Rotherham's few Grade I listed buildings, it can be seen for miles around with a distinctive tower of ‘Rotherham Red' sandstone and limestone. There's fine interior medieval stonework and carved woodwork, including green men and ceiling bosses;
